Saline Experimental Range
Overview
The Saline Experimental Range (SER) is a 2,400 acre contiguous tract of native range acquired in 1994. The SER consists of a variety of upland, lowland, and breaks range sites. It is operated as a satellite of the Agricultural Research Center-Hays in support of forage-based, beef-production systems research. Cattle are watered by numerous ponds and a well with an underground water distribution system.
Facilities / Land Resources
The research facility includes cattle working facilities, including an office/lab, tack room, storage space, hydraulic squeeze chute, tub, and alley, sorting and holding corrals, and a load-out chute. The building and corrals were completed in 1998.
